Finding the Sweet Spot

The space

Video

This shows how audience position in the space alters which version of the lyrics are displayed.

The 3 versions are:

  • The Official Peace version
  • The Standard version (with anti-Jacobite verse)
  • William Hickson’s text of God Save The Queen

When you are in the middle of the room you see the Official Peace Version, and when you move away, the lyrics change

(The lyrics are cut off because we’re testing it on smaller monitor - the real ones have a much bigger resolution)

A sting for the show

Some further tests; overlaying the vocal and the humming - this could be what you hear in the Sweet Spot. Maybe the vocals are a bit loud?

Test: linking the infrared cameras to Ableton

This is the 1st test of The Sweet Spot - using two infrared cameras to plot a persons position and using that data to control the music - forgive the shaky camera and terrible sound (it was recorded on my phone).

It only bleedin’ well works!
